What is a Medical Power of Attorney?
A medical power of attorney is a document that allows another person (called the patient advocate) to make medical decisions for you when you no longer are able to. For example imagine you are in a coma and are no longer able to make decisions regarding your medical well being then you would want someone that you trust to make such decisions.
What is a Catholic/Christian friendly Medical Power of Attorney?
In conformity with the Catholic Church I believe a medical power of attorney should have presumption of favoring life. Specifically a person should not be deprived from basic human needs such as food, water, and oxygen.
Who should I appoint to be my patient advocate?
A patient advocate is the person who is able to make medical decisions for you when you are no longer able to; therefore, we recommend that you appoint someone that you trust to make very important and potentially life altering decisions.
